Beat the chill this winters : OOTD

Jacket : Calvin Klein , Century 21 , NYC
Jeans: Levis
Shoes : Aldo, Newport Mall, Jersey City
Bag: Prada, NYC
Muffler: Macy's,Newport Mall,Jersey City
Hat and socks: OIOI, Tokyo

Finally,I am back after almost 2 months. As you all might know, I had been traveling all this while. I was in the US for a month where I literally freaked out shopping and then I was in india to visit my family for another month. With the Japanese Yen strengthening and everything in Tokyo being so outrageously expensive it should be considered normal to lose you sanity while shopping in US :P

Winters are here and this is what I wore to beat the chill. Kept it all very toned down in shades of brown and decided to carry a contrast red bag which really stood out in the whole attire.I feel that the camel shade and red go beautifully together. Did minimal makeup and red lips and topped it off with a fur hat.Fur is the in-thing ... looks good , feels good.

A few of my absolute favorites in this look
  • The bag is my favorit-est-est-est ! I recently bought it from Prada ,NewYork and it was truly my love at first site! I am totally obsessed with it currently. I better be coz it won't be right to shift my obsession to another bag in the store :P Sigh! that would be tragic :P
  • The jacket couldn't get any better in terms of warmth, comfort and style. It feels like soft suede from the outside and inside it has a thick velvety furry layer which feels like I have a soft toy around me which keeps me warm . I picked it up from Calvin Klein in Century 21 in New York. This place is another shopper's paradise. It keeps all designer stuff at discounted prices.
  • The boots despite having a 3 inch heel are super comfortable and stylish.

Smart and sporty dressing - OOTD

Shirt : Ed Hardy
Shorts: Forvever 21
Flip flops: Gift
Belt : Forever 21
I visited an awesome place last weekend by the name of Sea Paradise. As the name suggests, it has all to do with marine life. There were shows, water rides ,and huge aquariums with wierdest of creatures!

So as far as my outfit goes I wanted to keep it as simple and  comfortable as possible .I wore these beautiful high waisted suede shorts in bottle green color and paired it up with a smart casual top.I threw in a vibrant yellow belt to add some drama. For a more cool and sporty vibe, I decided to go with Aviator sunglasses and funky flip flops with metallic detailing.Topped it off with a nice cap and loads of sunscreen .

I leave you with some pictures I clicked.

"When in doubt, wear red" - Bill Blass

Red dress ,red shoes and a bright red lipstick might sound too over the top ! Its not halloween and no one wants to be dressed as a little red riding hood:P Girls are usually intimidated with bright red lipsticks and so was I for a long time but honestly, till we don't try how would we ever know if it's suiting us or not? So I went ahead and decided to experiment and my efforts didn't go vain. It was decent enough to be posted here on my blog :p Just conceal your facial imperfections, blemishes and dark circles and wear it .You might surprise yourself :)

I wore a red dress similar to the shade of my lipstick. Overall , it turned out to be quite a glamorous look with a short dress, high heel wedges, open hair pinned to one side, and a clutch bag with metallic detailing.

I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments section below.

Perfect office wear :Look of the day

Skirt: Zara, Tokyo.Japan
Shirt: Ruffled shirt, shibuya 109, Tokyo ,Japan
Stilettoes: Carlton London, Gurgaon, India
Clutch bag: Debenhams,Gurgaon, India

Lipstick : Maybelline 022
Highlighter : Mac Light over Dark Mineralize Blush

When I first came to tokyo I was pleasantly surprised to see how well dressed people here were. What shocked me all the more was that how could working women of all ages manage to look so perfect from head to toe each morning when I could barely open my eyes.I still don't have the answer.

Inspired by them, I created this look ideal for office wear , job interviews and other professional meetings. I got into my favorite ruffled shirt and paired it up with a high waist green skirt .For a more polished and professional look, I tied my hair into a pony tail ,wore a nude lipstick and slipped into my plain black stilettos. I used a golden highlighter on my cheeks to add a touch of dewiness.Vibrants colors and big pieces of jewelry can be distracting so avoid.

Offices can be chilly at times with the air conditioners operating as very low temperatures so why not throw on a blazer. It adds more sophistication and style.

Being well dressed at work creates a professional and competent image and speaks volumes about your  ability to do your job.

Right outfit , wrong location : OOTD at Forbidden City,Beijing

This was in Beijing a couple a months back at a famous tourist spot by the name of Forbidden City. I was never so enthusiastic about posting this outfit maybe coz these pictures never excited me too much . Still I decided to post them coz I absolutely love this high waist skirt and top.I just feel that they don't go well with the occasion of sight seeing and touristy stuff which demands a more casual and comfortable outfit. I initially wore another cottony pink dress I bought from Forever 21 but to my horror it was quite transparent.

I'd rather wear this outfit to a nice restaurant or team it up with a ruffled shirt and wear on a more formal occasion.

The skirt has a thick black elastic band on the sides which holds the waist tight and gives and illusion of a much thinner waist. The top has these pretty frills on the shoulders which sets it apart from the usual white tops and gives an ultra feminine feel to it.For my hair, I wrapped a long piece of cloth with wire inside to ease twisting and gripping of the hair. This 1 min hairdo,I believe looks different and more eyecatching than the usual tying or braiding of hair .

My next post would declare the winner of my giveaway. It's coming out really soon so stay tuned!

A dash of Indian-ness!!!

This is a look I created with the fusion of Western Clothing and Indian accessorizing. So I slipped into my baby pink dress and teamed it up with floral printed stilettos. To add a dash of Indian-ness I accessorized it with junk jewelry, embroidered Jhola(bag) and a shawl(stole).I stuck mostly with different shades of pink .I wore clip-on hair extensions and braided my hair to add some more traditional touch.

I entered this look in the Indian Accents Stylepile contest. So if you like it then please take a minute to "heart" it here

I'd Love to have your feedback :)

I wore something more relaxed ,comfortable and uncomplicated this time without loosing on the style factor.Dressing up casually doesn't mean forfeiting style .I slipped in to my skinny jeans , threw on a  loose cottony shirt ,zipped up my shoe boots and voila!

The high heels and the bag's sleek silver chain do add some element of glamour and girlishness to the look.Replacing them with sneakers and a rugged looking bag would give a more tomboyish feel to the whole look.

Jeans: Levis , Delhi, India
Shirt:Zara , Tokyo ,Japan
Shoe boots: Forever 21, Tokyo, Japan
Sling bag : Freesmart , Ginza, Tokyo

Indo-Western Fusion : Another way to create spectacular and Exotic looks!

Jhumkas & Bracelet : Janpath , Delhi, India
Neckpiece: Greater Kailash,M block Market ,Delhi , India
Jhola: Sarojini Nagar Market , Delhi, India
Green Body Con Dress : Bombay , India
Stilletoes: Forever 21, Tokyo

The fusion of Indian and western style of dressing can create spectacular looks.Especially, outside India a lot of people consider it to be exotic! The look I created has an indian touch to it despite me dressing up absolutely the non indian way. I accessorized it with some antique looking metallic junk jewelry such as the Jhumkas and traditional looking Neckpiece and Bracelet to add some Indianness .The makeup obviously had to be a lot of kajal and liner to get those big beautiful Indian eyes! .To top it all off I added a jhola(Bag) and a big Desi smile to complete this look.

I entered this look in the Indian Accents Stylepile contest. So if you like it then please take a minute to "heart" it here

I'd Love to have your feedback :)
